It's going to be hard for MSU to repeat their success of last year with only one returning OL starter. A tested, talented OL is absoultely essential; you can't be successful without one.

I think their 2 OG's return but they lost everyone else on the O-line. Not easy replacing 2 OT's, both vital positions. I think overall they have 11 returning starters, but they lost all three of their starting linebackers. So basically, they lost almost all the key ingredients of their team except the QB. Tough to recover from.
Last year was their "big year".  Bama disrupted that little party--LOL. This is what happens with second tier schools/teams. They develope players until they are seniors, say one good recruiting class, then they graduate and their process has to start all over again. So they can only look forward to a competitive team once every 3 or 4 years. Bottom line is that they don't take their football serious.

Oh, I think they do, but they're the little brother in the state. Plus, they have schools like OSU, Penn State, Wisconsin, & others raiding the state for talent. I think this coch is for real but won't know for another 3 years. If they can go 9-3 or 10-2, then they are building the program. If they go 7-5, 8-4, then it's Tommy Tuberville coaching, up & down.

It could be worse. They could be the little sister, like the barn.  Cheesy

Add Alabama to the list raiding the state for talent. Don't forget Heisman Trophy Winner Mark Ingram.

Saying they are the little brother in the state is like saying you are the little brother to Carl Childers.
