Decision Day: 5-star defensive tackle Matt Elam set to choose between Alabama and Kentucky (predictions, poll)
One of the nation's best (and biggest) defensive tackles is set to announce his college decision on Thursday as Elizabethtown, Kentucky star Matt Elam is scheduled to choose between Alabama and Kentucky at a news conference at his high school...

Prediction: ALABAMA. While the average fan may look at a recruit's decision between Alabama and Kentucky as no real decision at all, there's plenty of appeal for a star player from the Bluegrass State to stay home and play for what many perceive to be a rising program. Mark Stoops and his staff have generate nearly unprecedented excitement for the Wilcats' program and have put together a phenomenal recruiting class as a result. I think this will be a close decision but Elam and his family's insistence on the importance of developing as an NFL prospect makes me think the Crimson Tide simply have too many advantages for Elam to turn them down...

All of the major sports analysts say he is the real deal and Bama can use him in a big way in the middle of their defensive line where they need so much help. Welcome to T-town Matt and mom.

C'mon 11:00!!!

Maybe he'll announce he wants to play O-line.
I read somewhere that's a possibility.

Andrew Bone just retweeted Rivals national recruiting guy saying everyone he's talked to thinks Elam's going to Kentucky.

I watched the live feed. He picked UK. With some luck he might play in a bowl game before he graduates.

Good luck to the kid. He obviously wanted to stay close to home. It is hard to blame him for that.

I knew we did not have a chance when the live feed came on. Their was a UK and Louisville helmet and an Alabama cap. The Alabama hat looked like a cheap one picked up on sale at Walmart and there was no way that little cap was going to fit his big head.

Can't blame the kid for staying home.  Bama will continue winning championships and having multiple 1st round defensive draft picks every year.  Kentucky might go to a few Papa John's Bowls in the next four years.

Can't say I didn't want a 6'5" 350 guy on the defensive line, but we're good.
