I got to know John during college.  He's a class act, always was.
I'm proud of him, his accomplishments, and his family.

John has always struck me as a no-nonsense kind of guy.  Sometimes he sounds a bit surly even.  Interesting that he talks about Coach Bryant with a little less mystique that some of the stars of yesteryear.

Yeah, the quotes are very revealing about Coach Bryant being close to only the star players.
Never heard anyone point that out.
