Well, the ink on the "resignation" isn't even dry and already the speculation has started for his replacement. Speculation is on several Ohio natives:

Bo Pelini
Jon Gruden
Bob Stoops (yeah, I know, ths is getting old)
Urban Meyer

I would scratch Gruden and Stoops, not sure about the other two.

I don't think OSU will go after a "big gun" until the NCAA issues are settled and the severity of the penalties are known.

If we're trying to be cute or funny about it-- Rich Rodriguez.

I wasn't quick enough. I was going with RichRod. But now, how about Jerry Faust?

They have already said the interim coach will coach next year which means they understand they can not get a big name until the NCAA rulings are known and the dust settles. Then my guess is Urban Meyer.

It is off topic a little, but pmull, have you heard Lou Holtz weigh in on any of this? Maybe I have just missed his comments.
PS: I mean "missed" as overlooked.

ESPN is covering it like a XXX cheap suit. I can imagine Holtz saying something like "Trethel did the only thing that maketh thenth. He rethigned".

[/quote]That is what I recall. Silence. Now that may mean nothing. But I was curious as to the possibility of a close friendship, or maybe even a vendetta between Tressel and Loltz. Probably nothing there.
