Devonta Pollard arrested for conspiracy to kidnap

This is so ignorant. These people did what is right and they are being persecuted for it. May GOD be there lawyer. RTR!

We don't know why they did it yet.  The thought that they were trying to protect the child is just a theory to try to explain why anyone would do such a thing.  At this point my opinion is that everyone involved belongs in prison, unless some new details come out that we haven't heard yet.

IF they did something wrong then yes for sure SC. The story I have heard from the news is, that child was left by it self nobody to care for it and they picked it up and took it in. I may be wrong and if I am GOD forgive me. I just hope this child does not get some kind of wrong placement because of this. RTR!

I keep waiting to hear why the innocent child was kidnapped and if Pollard's Mother thought the child was in danger or something like that. The FBI have been on this case for about a month and they are making more arrests so you have to think they have some strong evidence.

Momma Pollard and the mother of the child were cousins with a running dispute over something. My guess it's money. The child was abandoned because Momma Pollard got spooked when someone (FBI) called her back on her cell phone since she had called the child's mother on her cell phone and caller ID identified her number. This is a strange, sad, & twisting tale of stupidity, anger, & an outrageous crime. The final chapter will be some folks going to the Federal Penitentiary for a long time.

That is the best explanation I have heard yet. I am still confused how a school teacher thinks kidnapping is a good way to settle any type of a dispute and can get 5 or 6 others to help her out.

That is the scariest part of this whole sordid mess. A school teacher, supposedly committed to helping children, kidnaps a 6 year old child, then dumps her in the rain on the side of a rural road & tells her to wait. Luckily, the child walked and found a house with decent people who took care of the child and called police.

We don't know what Devonta did or didn't do.  Apparently this is why he was charged:

Investigators, who had the son's consent to search the vehicle at his residence in Northport, discovered a Best Western key and receipt as well as Walmart receipts for the cell phones.

I read this as well. The arcticle I read said there was a property dispute and the child was taken for leverage. Most people hire an attorney for leverage in disputes. Kidnap a child and you go to prison.

I still have not seen why Devonta is involved other than the use of his car.

I also saw a quote by CAG that said Devonta is still on the team but he has more important issues to take care of than basketball right now.

I still think the Feds are trying to squeeze Momma Pollard to confess by bringing Devonta into this mess. I doubt Pollard will play again for the Tide due to the embarrassment of this matter and all the attention it has brought. Plus, if he is somehow involved, then he is really toast.

Coach Grant has to cut this kid loose right now & send a message. Innocent until proven guilty is a legal term and has nothing to do with being on a BB team.

According to the Tuscaloosa News, he had not been working out with the team since the kidnapping and was mulling a transfer to East Mississippi Community College.
