I love blowouts. They are my favorite type of game involving Bama winning. The Jawja game about gave this ole boy a heart attack. I can't take too many of those. Just sayin'....
I heard a discussion on ESPN a few days ago.  They were discussing how to beat Alabama.  I forgot the exact stats, but one was something like, "Saban doesn't have a good record in close games.  In games of ~5 points or less, he's just 5-4."  Then they concluded, "The way to beat Saban is keep it close."

Talk about stretching stats!!

Laughing

Did they check his record for when his team has fewer points than the other team?  I'll bet that is the secret.

My daughter told me during a game last year "We are so good the games are not fun to watch anymore". We were blowing out Arky at the time. I disagreed. Winning and winning big is not boring. Actually it is a heck of a lot of fun.

I can understand a little of where she's coming from.  I made the trip to Dallas last year.  Trust me, with three big Bama fans on a 10-hour ride out and seeing the Bama/Michigan folks everywhere we went in Dallas before the game, we were plenty amped up.  But the climax came in the first quarter of the game, really.  By midway through the 2nd quarter the only questions left were how bad Saban wanted to let it get, which of the freshmen would play, and how many Jack and diets I'd have.  It was a little unsatisfying after the build up.
I didn't find that game boring.  It was awesome watching Bama's offense blow down the field, the defense shutting down Denard Robinson.  It was a great trip.  (Michigan fans talking before the game about how they were going to "Shock the World" didn't hurt either).

I don't mind the blowouts -- they're fun to watch with no stress about the outcome.

Laughing  I sat there wondering about the intelligence of the audience.  Can't you seen some bone-headed coach (Les Myles?) taking notes and nodding?

All those stats are just like saying the team won the game.

More rushing yards?  Check.
Won the turnover battle?  Check.
Longer time of possession?  Check
Team leading at half-time?  Check
Team that played the most players?  Check
Team with more time outs left?   Check
Team with the most first downs?  Check
Team with the better third down conversion rate?  Check
Team that had the most tackles for a loss?  Check
Team that had the fewest penalties?  Check

I hate it when the announcers turn to stats like they mean anything.

As fans, we have to hold ourselves to the same standards as the team.

No complacency.  Cheer every touchdown, every defensive stop, every blowout like the game is still on the line.

Personally, I am very bored. I much preferred it when we lost most every close game to teams like LSU, Auburn, Mississippi State, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Florida, etc. Much more exciting to see us play such close games & being beat because of the ineptness of the coach or a player.

The very question belies the "process". If you have bought into the process, the winning isn't the point. Winning is simply a by-product of the continual striving for excellence; for the penalty-free game, for no missed tackles or missed defensive covers, for exceptional strength and endurance, and good decision-making. You can't get bored with a team striving for a perfection that is ultimately unachievable. If every game they get half-way to perfection, then they never end up achieving it. But it's a beautiful thing to watch them move in that direction.

Some of the girls on my soccer team tonight didn't care too much for the process.  Embarrassed

But it is soccer.  You run in soccer.  So we run in practice.  Sure, it was a little tough physically, but certainly not more than they can handle.  The shocker for some of them was that the coach was insisting that they do something they didn't want to do.

We might be -2 girls at the next practice.  I know this sounds harsh, but if they aren't committed to putting forth a little effort to run some at practice, we don't need them on the team.  It isn't fair to the other girls to have a slacker on the field taking up a spot.  The other team will find that slacker every time and exploit that weakness.

Kinda like what Eddie did to T'eo and Barrett did to Nix?

Nope, not bored. Its rather enjoyable winning, and hearing all of the barners continue to whine about it.  Cheesy
