It looks like Alabama's 2019 football schedule is complete.

The addition of a Nov. 23 game with FCS school Western Carolina was first reported by FBSchedules.com on Monday. That would fill the slate of four non-SEC games for the season after next for Alabama.

The Crimson Tide already had dates set with Duke (in Atlanta on Labor Day weekend), New Mexico State (Sept. 7) and Southern Miss (Sept. 21). The SEC portion of the schedule will be filled in later in the year.

Hey HL, how do you see it getting worse sir? Are you talking of the mismatches we have? RTR!

Agreed. Louisville and Duke are not marquee games like Michigan, Southern Cal, Florida St, like we normally open with.

I understand two cupcakes but three is too many.

Two things - strength of schedule and our home schedule for our season ticket holders, which largely go hand in hand.

Our strength of schedule was the worst this past season than it has been in years, and it nearly cost us.  We barely made the playoffs with one loss, and our lack of SoS was the biggest argument against us.  Now, granted, everyone expected Florida St to be a top 10 team.

But the next two years, it's doubtful that Louisville and Duke would be top 20 teams, and the other out of conference opponents are cupcakes.

At some point people are going to get tired of paying the ticket prices (which will likely top $100/ea in the next ten years) for these games.  I believe we've already topped the peak of the mountain for demand, and it's going downhill.  Many folks have given up their season tickets.

If Western Carolina is the best we can do for our 4th OOC game I am for going back to an 11 game schedule.

How about playing whoever is ranked #1 for our last OOC game. RTR!

The A Day game is the only time the NCAA will let us play ourselves, Preacher. Sorry.

The Tuscaloosa News is reporting that Bama is negotiating with Notre Dame and Texas about home-and-home series.  That's a big step towards bringing some good games back to the home schedule!

Looks like Byrnes had rather do that than rely on big neutral site matchups.

Clemson in '08, Michigan in '12, USC in '16, FSU in '17 - all entered opening game with national title aspirations, got destroyed, and never recovered. It's possible that no marquee teams will agree to play Bama at this point.

That's why I'm surprised to see Texas and ND on the negotiating list.  Didn't they learn their lesson?   Smiley
