247 sports: Wednesday practice report

Highlights:
-Former University of Alabama players Wallace Gilberry and Jarrett Johnson, along with former offensive line/assistant head coach Joe Pendry, were on hand as the Crimson Tide held its sixth practice of spring inside the Hank Crisp Facility on Wednesday.

-There was no change in the status of injured/absent players.

-For the second straight practice, redshirt freshman Austin Shepherd was working ahead of Arie Kouandijo at right tackle during individual drills.

-Players will have Thursday off and Friday will hold a final practice for Saturday’s scrimmage. All practices until A-Day on April 16 are closed to the public.

-first two groups up front looked like this during individual drills: 1s: LT -- Alfred McCullough; LG -- Chance Warmack; C -- William Vlachos; RG -- Barrett Jones; RT -- Fluker. 2s: LT- Aaron Douglas; LG -- Anthony Steen; C -- Kellen Williams; RG -- Boswell; RT -- Austin Shepherd.

Caution at Safety

TUSCALOOSA | With three University of Alabama safeties withheld from contact this spring, Robert Lester couldn't be faulted for wondering if a little bad luck were involved. Lester and Will Lowery are the most game-experienced safeties UA has at full speed for the moment, but UA coach Nick Saban indicated that the safeties who have been limited this spring -- Mark Barron, Jarrick Williams and Nick Perry - will still have a role Saturday when the Crimson Tide holds its first scrimmage of spring.

"They do everything but thud them when they get to them. Anything but that. We'll scrimmage those guys, too. Kareem Jackson went through a whole spring around here with a black shirt on, with a broken wrist or whatever he had, he took every rep, every play, and scrimmaged every time," Saban said. "They just won't tackle the guy if the guy gets to them."...

Well I hope we can get a full report of the scrimmage Sat. I'd like to see how everybody stands and who is working the hardest. A-Day will be a great game I think. RTR!
