Morning, all.  Coffee

Looks like the recruiting season will have more last-minute surprises than usual.  Last year the class was pretty well set by late January.  This year Coach Saban has kept quite a few spaces open for the top recruits, and if they sign with Alabama it'll come during the final days.  Alabama is among the top schools for a dozen of the 5-star players who aren't committed.  Hopefully we'll land at least 3-4.

Having them visit during a Natty celebration doesn't hurt either. Many of them have to have been impressed by that. I think we have 17 commits presently, so there's definitely room. Here's to a strong finish!  Toast 2

When CNS spoke at the championship celebration on Saturday he talked about some of the reasons this team was so special this year. One of the reasons that I thought was so big for the team was that the players had a we and us attitude and not the me and my. I hope the recruits that pick Bama listened and understood what CNS was saying. This team has to be the most unselfish team that I can ever remember at Bama. The sad part about all of this is that I think the team jelled when Tenpenny and Jones left the team. It's a shame those two weren't around to enjoy the victory and celebration, especially Tenpenny.

Morning, all.  Coffee

Excellent post, Jamos (above).  There's so much more necessary to win a natty than talent and coaching.  Fortunately, Alabama had it all this year!

Lots of recruiting news.  A whole bunch of prospects will make their decisions during the next few days.

RIP, Coach Bryant.   Pray

Oh boy, more rain! At least it's warmer. The snow storm has crippled the northeast. 37 dead. Prayers to the afflicted and families.  Pray

We saw photos from our family in Virginia.  Those who live on a farm are buried.  Their road (1-mile driveway) is deep in snow, so they are stuck for a while.  The frozen lake is so deep in snow that the lake surface is level with the surrounding land.  They had 20-25" of snow, then the wind blew it into drifts.  CRAZY.

The magnitude and area of the storm is unprecedented. My heart goes out to the people like you posted about. They need a thaw, but with the thaw comes flooding. It's a natural disaster catch 22.

It is a catch 22.
Today in Virginia it's supposed to warm into the 40s, but no sun.  So the snow will soften, then refreeze.  The schools are closed.

Looks like NY has made much better progress clearing snow than DC.

All that hot air coming out of there should thaw them out in no time.

Snow is so beautiful but it can be so ugly. I love snow in Alabama if the big fluffy flakes are falling but not the sticking deep dangerous stuff. It is beautiful, cloudy and rainy here today. RTR!
