Wednesday practice report

This was the last media viewing of the preseason. This will be the last practice report of the week. The Tide will practice Thursday behind closed doors, and its walk-through on Friday on its practice fields also is closed to the news media. Today's practice was a routine Thursday practice. Wait. Isn't today Wednesday? It is. But the Tide held "Wednesday" practices Monday and Tuesday. It will hold another "Thursday" practice on Thursday. Got it? Because Alabama started preparing for Saturday's game last Friday, things are a little out of kilter. Next week the normal routine will begin, with heavy hitting in pads on Tuesday and Wednesday. That is, a "Tuesday" practice on Tuesday and a "Wednesday" practice on Wednesday.

I think CNS will loosen up a little after the season starts and the players pretty much define themselves as to where they will play. It hasn't been much fun to read the daily reports but it sure has kept the unwanted media controversy away.

This is surprising.  I thought that he and Duron would not both be able to fit in the 25.  So were we okaying Carter paying his own way and getting NCAA approval that he'd not count against the 25 or what?  I'm confused!

Good question! You may be on to why there was such a long wait, but a good move to get Woodson on the team.
