So far, 14 pages of responses to the hire and I'd say it's going, atleast, 70% negative as a bad hire. Like I said, very perceptive fans.

I read some of the posts made after the press conference.  They got really optimistic.

The were aiming too high and made a quick, rushed decision. They could have gotten a solid coach from a mid-major or a top assistant. The AD is supposed to be a friend of Gottfried.

I think this from Gottfried clears up any question about whether they are friends.

Asked about how hard it is to work for Deb.

Gottfried said he had a great job and that for him to leave that job it had to be right.  Had other opportunities in the last few years but the reason he is here is because of Debbie Yow.  Said he has a confidence because of Woodson and Yow that this is the right place for him.  Would not have taken a job if he did not feel it was right.  What he loves at Yow is that she wants to win.  she wants it to be great.  IF you are a coach that is what you want, it is exciting for Gottfried.

I had a long drawn out post but I won't do it again. My only question is, he represented Alabama with integrity and was a family member of Alabama, how can you blast him till he has a chance to go there and coach? RTR!
