My brother, BIL, and I have an ongoing group text where we talk sports, rant about the current state of world affairs, and generally BS with each other.   We've been discussing this already this morning.

The problem with him ranting and raving about things like that is that everyone outside of Alabama is going to assume he's lying through his teeth.  Not about TA&M, mind you, but about he and Alabama doing things the right way.

In the end, he'd probably be better off just not saying anything.

Well, Deion seemed to pull the race card rather quickly about the "lies" Saban told.

SC, I apologize if that is considered too political or controversial.  You're welcome to delete my post rather than dumping the thread into the Presidential Shanty.  It won't offend me.

For some reason CNS has stirred up a hornet's nest something he usually don't do. RTR!

Jimbo went into a rant but, to me, he didn't point blank deny what CNS was saying.  Anybody paying attention knows that aTm was up to something in the last recruiting class.  I would think the UTex alums would be all over this but haven't heard a peep out of them yet.

In the past couple of weeks two top guys in the portal committed to USCw.  Let's see what kind of NIL deals they end up getting.

USC being a private university allows them a lot more shade to public records requests and such as well.

The ESPN college writers group put together a heck of a lot of anonymous quotes today from coaches and ADs.  Pretty good read: https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/33946571/nick-saban-jimbo-fisher-feud-coaches-ads-happened-next

Saban doesn't do anything without thinking it through. He said what he did for a reason. I'm not smart enough to know what that is, other than to shed as much light on the problems with NIL as he can.

Fisher, to me, is nothing more than a shifty-eyed, fast-talking, snake oil salesman. I think maybe Saban is trying to bring that out as well, maybe.

I agree 2stater that he thought it out for a reason. RTR!
