They have to be the most frustrating piece of equipment you can own. Plus they are noisy. That is all.

Come cut the hundreds of privet bushes growing in our neighbor's field along our walking path is the best help!  No she can't do it and she doesn't even walk on the path.

While chain saws are  good for cutting trees they don't work well on smaller, more limber branches - keep jumping of track.  Don't recommend hand loppers.  Anyone with a bad neck and messed up rotator cup (as in hubbie) can't do that without extreme pain.

Maybe the best bet is to just send us a dozen young, able workers!

They are hard to start, cantankerous as an old Evinrude outboard, the chain jumps off the bar and just generally frustrate the hell out of me. I have a Poulan and that may be part of the problem, but my buddy has a Husqvarna and it's just as bad.

Have you tried calling someone in a third world country that doesn't speak English for factory assistance.

Your saw came with a tool for adjusting the bar to increase/decrease tension on the chain. When starting, hold in right hand with trigger depressed. Pull once with indicator in the choke position. It'll "cough". Then flip indicator to start and pull the cord again. So easy even GMac can do it.

You have to tighten the chain.

Make sure you add bar oil every time you add gas.

^KEY. I adjust my tension with enough slack that when I pull the chain up from the bar, I can still get my index finger beneath.
