Title: More Kirby Smart news
Post by: bama87 on December 03, 2015, 10:41:36 AM
According to Phil Savage on XM . Kirby is staying through playoff. That would be good news.

Phil Savage says on XM/Sirius sources tell him Kirby Smart will stay on through bowl/playoff.

To me it makes sense for UGA to let him stay through our final game if we are in the playoffs... If nothing else then just as a courtesy to KS in the event we win the championship

Prolly negotiated as part of the agreement.

Just think of the free publicity the Georgia athletic department gets and how many times during the games CKS's defense  and him going to Georgia. It's the dead period most of the time anyway

Recruiting is out for the most part of that time, it is a dead period which means hands off.

Plus, Richt is going to coach the team for the bowl game.

Hey MD it is running across the bottom of the screen on ESPN that Richt will not coach in the bowl game. The asst. Head Coach will do that, and I will try and find a link. RTR!

Interesting. Maybe Richt didn't want to coach it & wanted to get to work at Miami. Thanks for the info.

It also could help Kirby with recruiting.  They will be all ears as he talks about coaching for the latest national championship.

Wouldn't you like to hear the discussions between Saban and Kirby that occur this week.
Can Saban limit Kirby's interviews with the media, as he's done before now?
What's being discussed about recruits?

I think we'll be seeing a lot more Kirby after the SECCG.

Probably Kirby is now completely out of the recruiting loop.

Yes, but ...
1. Does Kirby turn over any videos, notes, files of recruits?
2. Does Kirby agree to limits about discussing Alabama's stance on recruits (priorities and ranks of recruits)?
3. Any turf-war agreements?

#1.  When Tuberville lied and left Ole Miss for Humpville, he took ALL of the recruiting info: files, tapes, letters....  HTH

Yeah, they fired the rest of his staff, complained to the SEC office, and got nothing back.

Then they hired David Cutcliffe, and he started over with recruits.
