Title: Eddie Jackson on Finebaum
Post by: 2Stater on October 17, 2016, 03:45:14 PM
Finebaum just interviewed Eddie Jackson. He did a great job. Built Saban up as a person and a coach, and sang Hurts' praises. Said he has really assumed a leadership role even as a freshman and is doing a great job.

Well Eddie would know as well as anybody. It is great to see a great DB add flavor to a discussion about our team and make other players want to come play here. RTR!

A caller from Mississippi just called in and said it's hard to hate Alabama after listening to a guy with great character like Eddie Jackson. Finebaum agreed and made the statement that the interview was the most compelling with a student athlete, that he's had in a long time.

Looks like the leadership, which earlier this year was deemed lacking, is in place.  Eddie is clearly a leader for the team, and especially the D.

He is indeed! There is no lack of leadership on this team. PF asked him about the altercation with Ronnie Harrison in the USC game. Eddie said he saw Ronnie do something the wrong way and was trying to coach him up. He said Harrison took it the wrong way and argued with him about, but that both apologized to each other after the game.

He went on to say that Saban expects the leadership team to step up and help coach up the other players, which they do regularly.

Made me feel real good about the state of the team!

Guys I have to apologize because sometimes at the beginning of the season, I question our leadership because of some of the mistakes we see and hear about. One thing I have come to learn over the last 10 years is that CNS builds a winning football team BUT HE BUILDS CHARACTER in these young men also. This is why you see players from Alabama stand at the National Anthem or Hold a Flag in support. NOOOO, I am not getting political but I am saying the character young men have after leaving Alabama still shows. If we never won another game we have still won more than any team in this country by the Class and Character these guys learn. RTR!

This is the link where we discussed leadership during August.  Pretty funny to read now.

I love SC's post:

Good stuff in here.

Chech makes a good point that didn't occur to me.  The boys are grinding right now, and many of them are in a dogfight just to earn playing time.  Leaders will emerge once some of those position battles have been settled, particularly the QB spot.

There is NO WAY we lose to Ole Miss again this year.  None.  Nada.  Zip.  Nein.  We have a better chance of going 1-11 than we do of losing to Ole Miss

Nostradamus has nothing on SC.

He was also interviewed on "SEC NOW", and did well there too.
