Title: Baseball Heads to 14th-Ranked Missouri for a Weekend Series
Post by: pmull on April 17, 2015, 09:53:07 AM
There is not any breaks in the SEC season. Another week against a ranked team. Our SOS is #1 in the nation.

Quote
Alabama will hit the road for a three-game, weekend series with the 14th-ranked Missouri Tigers. The trip to Columbia will be the Crimson Tide's first in the program's 123-year history. The Tide and Tigers are scheduled for a 6 p.m. CT first pitch on Friday with the game airing on SECN+. The SEC Network will carry the final two contests, with Saturday's game set for a 7 p.m. first pitch and Sunday's finale starting at Noon CT.

It's time to keep the momentum going. This team has enough talent to compete with anyone. They just have trouble with consistency. Hopefully, they will have good results against Mo.

We have to find a way to win these close games against good teams. We had 2 on in the 9th when the last out was made.

Bama    3-8-0
Mizzou  4-9-3

They will play a doubleheader today with Game 1 at Noon and Game 2 30 minutes after Game 1. Both games are on the SECN+. The scheduled Sunday game was moved up due to expected bad weather on Sunday.

Bama wins Game Two 6-0. Jake Walters had a very good start pitching 7 scoreless inning giving up 7 hits and striking out 5. Burrows pitched 2 innings of no hit relief to complete the shutout.

Casey Hughston had a 2 run HR and Georgie Salem had 3 RBI's.

Game Three should be starting any minute.

Bama loses Game Three 5-3 and loses the series 2-1.

We are now 20-18 on the year and 7-11 in SEC.

We have two games against Miss Valley St this week at home before going to Oxford to play Ole Miss next weekend.
