Title: Four of the Top 50 Prospects in the Minors Play for the Braves System
Post by: Marshal Dillon on March 05, 2011, 07:14:59 PM
I was reading Lindy's Sports Baseball edition 2011 Preview. I had heard of 2 of these guys. Lindy's breakdown:

Julio Teheran RHP 6'2" 170 20 yrs old (from Colombia) overall 4th ranked prospect in minors
Has electric fastball  & above-average changeup & curveball.

Freddie Freeman 1B L/R 6'5" 220 21yrs old 12th overall prospect-Also, Lindys picked him to be Rookie of the Year
A better hitter for average than Heyward, wit less power. Strong defender at first base.

Randall Delgado RHP 6'3" 180 21 yrs old (from Panama) 43rd overall prospect
Led the Braves organization in strikeouts last year.

Mike Minor LHP 6'3" 200 23 yrs old
Signed the highest bonus in Braves histor $2.42 million-Was throwing 94 mph and made 8 starts in the majors last year. Has the inside track of cracking the rotation this year.

Sounds good if no one gets hurt. I wonder if they might consider one of these flamethrowers as a relief guy?

It is great to see the Braves get some good recruits. Bobby had talent but couldn't get it doen he got older and lost his touch I think. I thought they should have at least made the WSG last year, so teaching will help. RTR!
