Alabama sophomore forward Shannon Hale will miss the rest of the season due to a foot injury he suffered against South Carolina last week, coach Anthony Grant announced Monday.

Hale will undergo surgery Friday.

The injury further depletes an Alabama team already playing without starting guard Ricky Tarrant, who Grant announced last week will be out for the remainder of the year due to a ruptured plantar flascia.

This is the part that worries me.

Hale's injury is to the same foot he broke and eventually underwent surgery on last spring.

The question is, was Hale rushed back to action too soon? Will this result in major problems for him down the road. He needs to be seeing Dr. Andrews.

I don't think his play this season ever compared to what he played like at times last season. There is no doubt the healing process from the surgery affected his play this year. Sad.
