Nice late addition for this year. He is only 6-7 but he led the OVC in rebounds last year with 8.8 per game. He plays similar to former Bama player Chris Hines. Good defender, blocks out, rebounds and get a few scrappy points in the paint. He is our only true power forward which was a big need for the team.

We are definitely in need of a good power forward. Nice grab by CAJ.

I notice on the al dot com page one was saying only a band aid we need to get into the big dance so we can get the attention of kids who want to come here and play. I thought well maybe this is just the band aid we need to get into that tourney to get the very attention he spoke of. It sure can't hurt. I do know that grad transfers have helped our football team. RTR!

Bola has been cleared and joined the team. The roster for this year is set.

Quote
Alabama head men's basketball coach Avery Johnson announced that forward Bola Olaniyan has signed a financial aid agreement and will transfer from Southern Illinois to the Crimson Tide program for the 2016-17 campaign.

"We are just thrilled to have Bola join our team," Johnson said. "His experience and leadership are going to be very valuable for us. We wanted to upgrade in the area of rebounding and that's one of Bola's strengths."

On paper it looks promising. We have depth at guard and some big men who can rebound. Hope to see more out of Jimmy Taylor and keep seeing improvement by Donta Hall. The key is still guard play and can Shannon Hale stay healthy. Like I said, some really promising things hanging there. Perimeter shooting by Hale, Riley Norris, Dazon Ingram and maybe 1 0r 2 others and the addition of other players who can contribute will have a big impact.
