FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING: Alabama's Kevin Norwood was named the South's Most Outstanding Player for his receiving skills, not his passing. Norwood, who caught four passes for 53 yards and a touchdown, ended his day with an interception on a trick play, as Pierre Decir of Lindenwood picked off his pass in the end zone.

"I thought he was open," Norwood said of his intended receiver. "I didn't see the DB. I thought he fell for the fake but he didn't. With those big guys in front of my I couldn't really see. First interception of my whole life - I'd never thrown an interception before."

A player from somewhere called Lindenwood? It couldn't be a player from tOSU or Stanford or something?  :wall:

The best receiver in Saints history came out of Hofstra.  Where a guy went to college doesn't always tell the story.

Oh I know, just the initial thought. Besides, I have at least heard of Hofstra.  :lol2:

Pierre Desir of Lindenwood is the Small College Defensive Player of the Year. Lindenwood is in St. Charles, MO.

OK, I am SINCERELY sorry about saying anything REMOTELY sarcastic about a player at another university. I will commence with my penance now:
