Tough, tough game. Coached by Frank Martin, a solid coach.

UT beats Arkansas, somewhat surprising. Tide leading 9-7 early against SC.

It's a good thing Bama can play defense because they can't shoot to save their lives. I've not seen such offensive futility in a long time. Can we get a coach who know show to teach kids how to shoot? This is painful to watch.

21-17 SC, 3:42 left in half. Game sluggish & jerky-jerky. SC 15 rebounds, Tide 9. Tide shooting 33%.

We take too many 3 pointers & our play around the basket is poor. They go hand-in-hand.

SC big man Kacinas elbows Norris in the face. Looks very intentional. Flagrant 1 call after review. Norris misses BOTH FT's, Tide 5/12 for game. SC 28 Tide 22.

Tide loses 68-66. Awful last play by Tide coming off a timeout. Just awful pass by Cooper to Coleman into back court, then Levi has to make wild shot.

They fought their way back from what, a 13 point deficit, but came up just short.

It's hard to win on the road in the SEC.  Tennessee slammed Arky, KY has already had 3 OT periods.

But still a loss.  Need to finish these close ones.

That was frustrating to watch.  We fought so hard to scratch and claw our way back into it, and was set up perfectly to finally tie or take the lead with 11 seconds left.  Then we proceeded to ship the bed by executing the most ridiculous end of game sequence I have seen in a long time.  Surely that was NOT what CAG drew up.

Plus, Grant wasted 9 seconds before calling the timeout. Confusing.

BAMA was out rebounded and shot poorly from the stripe.

They have rebounded poorly all year, but have been solid at the stripe.

Honestly, the missed free-throws cost BAMA this game.

An announcer during the game touched on one of my biggest problems with the teams under CAG.

That problem is that BAMA shoots the most 3 pointers of anyone in the league and is third to last, .015% from last, in made 3 pointers.

Settling for low percentage shots, has been a trend under CAG.  This trend plays a large role in the lack of success of teams at BAMA under CAG.

Poor rebounding can be blamed on the lack of a dominant big-man presence underneath the basket, and I am willing to cede that point, but plenty of small squads have success inside against larger teams by taking advantage of their speed and agility to push the ball and score and draw fouls.

A consistent inside game is something that has always seemed to be lacking under Grant coached teams at BAMA.

Hopefully, the team can put this loss behind them and get ready for UK at home.

We almost stole one on the road when we did not play well. Disappointing but not a season killer.

I wish CAG would have called the time out early or let us play. With 11 seconds left and Obasohan driving we could have (1) made the shot, (2) miss and we get the rebound or (3) miss the shot and foul quickly with a few seconds left to extend the game another possession. The only reason to call time out is to regroup and run a set play called by the bench. We looked lost after the time out. We did not get the ball past the three point line and throw up a desperate three pointer.

That was an outstanding observation by the announcer. When I heard it it was eye-opening & so logical since it answered questions about our game planning, rebounding, etc. Also, rebounding is more about position & effort than sheer size.

Every time CAG calls a timeout, it seems like a disaster.  The players lose whatever momentum they had -- they get out of the moment and get stuck in their heads.  I think CAG should just let the kids play.

Yep, & rebound better. SC had 13 offensive rebounds, we had 4. That's dreadful. We were 20/30 FT's & SC was 21/27. Tarrant fouling out with over 4 minutes left really killed us. He had gotten hot & scored 15 points, plus his ball handling ability.

Strange isn't it? This seems to happen in other close games & i really don't get it. What is going on in the huddle during timeouts which causes this?

Of course, I was trying to eliminate the use of a potential excuse.

I think he gets the players thinking too much, instead of just playing.
