Alabama finished the day in a tie for 2nd place with LSU. Stanford is the leader in the stroke play portion of the Championship. The top 8 teams advance to match play beginning tomorrow.

Alabama and LSU  are in the top 8 and will advance to stroke play. The SEC makes up 25% of the field.

Alabama freshman Robby Shelton finished the individual portion of the event at -5 tied for 3rd only one shot behind the overall winner.

Alabama beat SMU in the first day of match play today, in the morning round. They will play LSU, who beat UCLA. They start at 1:30 this afternoon.

I don't have a link yet, but Bama beat LSU this afternoon and will play the winner of the Stanford-Ok. St. match still in progress, for the NC.

Ok. St. just beat Stanford to advance to the NC match against Bama tomorrow. Ok. St. has won 10 golf NCs. If Bama beats them, we will have back-to-back NCs.

Brace yourself folks, history is in the making. Bama is leading Oklahoma State 2-0 with three matches left to play. They are leading two of those matches 1 up on one and 2 up on the other with 3 holes left to play. They are losing the third match 2 down with 2 holes to play. All they need is one more win. Come on Bama!!!!

Bama loses the one match 3-1 but is still leading the other 2 matches, 1 up with 2 holes to play on one match and 2 up on the other with 2 holes to play.

I watched the recap of the championship on the Golf Channel last evening and what a treat it was as all the players and coaches were interviewed. For some of you that didn't know, Bama hired an assistant coach last year that had just been fired as the head coach at Oklahoma State. It was a very emotional day for this gentleman as he had recruited all the players at Oklahoma State. He got very emotional as he thanked Coach Seawell for giving him another chance at coaching.

Great stuff! He is now a part of building a golf dynasty at Bama.  :clap:

On a side note, I wonder if it is possible to get a hat like the team wears? I really like them.

I watched last night and the pressure seem to get to most of the OSU players.  The Shelton kid is a stud.
