Don't mean to speak ill of the dead, bu I have heard NOTHING positive about this guy. He sold the University out, in order to save his own rear back in 2000. I've read he was despised everywhere he's been, Florida, So. Carolina, and Alabama.

Yeah, that was my first thought, but sometimes you just have to be honest and not be a hypocrite. Of course, I could have just followed smithgeneral and said nothing like my mother would advise if you can't say something nice about another.

Quote
"As soon as he came to the state of South Carolina from Alabama, he has his 'bow-tie tour,'" said provost Michael Amiridis, who was dean of the engineering school under Sorensen. "He decided to take the car and go to many, many small communities around the state, meet the people, reach out from the university, make sure that the university is not an ivory tower, but that it's imbedded into the community and into the state of South Carolina."

Quote
"I have grandchildren who were students," Adams said. "My oldest grandson just thought the world of Andrew Sorensen and that's what I saw among other students, too. The students who were involved day-to-day, active in organizations, really liked Andrew. He had a good relationship with them."

Seems they thought well of him at USCe.

I was glad you said it.  If you hadn't, I might have had to...

Momma thought it cute to dress me in a bowtie, when I was 3, but maybe because my regular tie kept hanging up in my trike tire.

I wonder if my dad is beating him up right now.  I'd like to think so.

He was president when I graduated back in '99. It was not the biggest thrill of my life to shake hands with him as I crossed the stage. I wanted to ask "Can I shake DuBose's hand instead?

I expect to hear the usual pablum when someone likes him pases away and nobody really liked him. Stuff like, "he was a dedicated educator," "his life was education," "he will be missed," "he loved animals," and other such drivel.

LOL!!  I better be careful, I always paid my rent on time when I was younger and had an apartment. If something happens to me could you all at least say, " He was a decent poster," or "He didn't cuss too much on-line," or "At least, he wasn't an Auburn fan."

What a great looking Golden! Since 1991, I have had three different Goldens. We have a Chocolate Lab we got a year and half ago. My wife wanted to try something different and a neighbor had a Chocolate she realy liked, so we got an AKC Chocolate. Great dog, very personable and fun, just like a Golden.
