After a couple of days to think about this, I am beginning to wonder if CNS was just experimenting with some guys to push them a little and get them some game experience at different spots.  Maybe we put in the "real" O-Line this week.  I hope.

Hard to argue with the results:

1.  QBs got hurried and hit to gain "game experience";
2.  Lots of trials with OL players at different positions;
3.  Lots of passing to get timing down;
4.  Plenty of receivers touched the ball, including young ones;
5.  Nobody got hurt.

I was under the impression that TR would get him about 200 yds to start a good year but he had I believe was 87 with 3 TDs. I do know that EL ran better for some reason this has me for sure miscombobulated. RTR!

I think TR only had 37, not 87.  Part of it was our strong defense and punt returns.  We kept getting the ball back with a short field.  But that was only a small part of it, the O-Line did have some issues.

Thanks SC, I didn't realize it was that low. I almost bet this takes him our of the HT discussion. I know Mark May had him as his darkhorse. I think it was him, anyway I was sure hoping he would have that great year. It can still happen we just have to play fundamental football. RTR!

The most interesting aspect of this game will be if the O-Line problems disappear or if we have some real problems there. I bet Barrett Jones starts at RG, not LT. Just thinking out loud.

Prediction: Tide 27  GrandPa State 10

My question is why everyone is putting BJ at right guard when it seems to me most problems were with the left guard?

All of you guys are making great points. I thought TR might play the first half and then sit the rest of the game. I don't remember exactly when he sat down, but I thought after he would have at least 100 yards rushing. I thought this was one of those games that he would pad his stats for the Heisman run. Now to the offensive line. I'm no coach and I don't know how to fix it, but something will probably be done. My thing is, if we are going to have problems the whole year, better to fix them now. I say put everybody back to their original spot, and start Cyrus at LG. I remember about 6 or 7 years ago when all we did was run left behind Andre Smith. Everybod knew it, and we still ran the ball. We have to just find a way. Whether that means running between the tackles, or getting the ball outside. Did Vlachos play? Someone told me that they thought he was hurt and din't play. This may have had something to do with the struggles they were having. Let's go to Happy Valley and get a win! Roll Tide!

He did play, but at one point they had Barrett Jones in at Center for some reason.  I suppose they were trying to get him some reps in case something happened to Vlachos during the season.

Center is the one position where there is no depth.

The practice report for today said they are working the OL hard after a disappointing showing Saturday.

If I had been TR Sat, I would have jumped the OL butts that day.  Told them I am tired of being hit as soon as I get the ball, now get your A**ES in gear and lets go.

The practice report for today said they are working the OL hard after a disappointing showing Saturday.

They did a lot of mixing and matching Saturday for a reason The center position is the weak link in the chain because they don't have any depth, if Vlachos goes down there is no one right now, the other center has been hurt. We were told this at the last scrimmage. In order to back up the center position they had to take the most versatile lineman they had and that is Jones so I wasn't surprised at the positon changes.

I think Warmack may be the weak spot of the OL, he just doesn't impress me at all. Cujo will be ok, he just needs more playing time.

Thanks Coach. That is probably what my friend was talking about. When he said that I was thinking, Vlachos played.
