Think of it this way.  This early in the season, I would much rather have the team that dominated the game but ended up losing because of too many crazy bounces the wrong way.  Would anybody really want to be the team that won because of pure luck and silly mistakes by the other team with all of these other games still left to play?  Sure, they feel pretty good about the win, but LSU is still on the schedule and the chances of all those bounces going their way again is slim to none.  If they want to win out they will have to earn it.

Alabama can correct the fumbles.  That will not happen again.  Ole Miss can't fix being pushed up and down the field without winning some recruiting battles.  Now #5 whipped us pretty good at times, but by the end of the game he was spent and not moving nearly as fast.

Having said all of that, if this were a championship game at the end of the season I would rather be the lucky winner every time.

Exactly, OSU lost to a terrible VATech team early.

Winning attracts people.  Often times those people have no emotional, or personal, attachment to the program.  They just like to back a winner.

I can attest that the amount of BAMA gear I see here (NC) has increased by a factor of 10 since Coach Saban got the program back on track.

They will jump off the wagon just as quickly as they jumped on the wagon.
That loss to Va Tech was last year.  OSU won their matchup with VA Tech this year...

Yes, that is correct.

OSU lost (last year) to a terrible VATech team and they still managed to make it to the playoffs and win the trophy.

I was agreeing w/ SC that an early loss is preferable to a late loss and using last year's OSU loss v. VATech as an example of one loss not being the end of a season.

No, all they want to do his win every game and a loss is not acceptable. They would have fired Coach Bryant after the 1970 season. Are you old enough to have tuned in to the Coach Bear Bryant show in the 70's? It was unbelievable some of the things callers asked or stated.

Let's see, over the last seven seasons and three games of season eight Bama has lost more than one regular season game once.  Of the eight regular season losses only one has been my more than six points.

In eight seasons Bama has been soundly beaten in the regular season one time. Every other loss could have been a win if one ball had bounced a different way.  Tell me again that Bama's dynasty is over.

Bama born, Bama bred, when I'm gone, I'll be Bama dead.

I would just like Lame Kitten gone...I think CNS has had it with him, also..see their interactions on the sidelines?

I had a bad feeling about this game, but the team fought hard..take away the fluke, and if Humphrey stays with his man LIKE HE IS COACHED..we win.

Yes, I remember 1969/70 seasons, when LOTS of folks wanted CPBB gone..then he re-invented his offense..and the rest is history.

They do not, and apparently most of the reporters do not either.  Or, in many cases, they didn't actually watch the game and only saw the highlights.  If you watch every play, the actual game tells a different story than this "Ole Miss dominated" narrative that is being spewed forth by everyone in the national media.

True, SC, true.
Alabama did a lot of things right.  They kept coming back despite the golden horseshoe.

While I am in here, I am really ticked off at all of those people that left the game early.  They should require you to show an ID to get out of the game, and ban you from coming back to another game unless you have a really good excuse.  Those boys work their tails off all year long, and you're telling me you can't "commit" to sitting on your rear end until the game is over, win or lose?  You don't deserve the opportunity to watch a game in Bryant-Denny stadium.  Just stay home and watch on TV so you can change the channel to the Lifetime Network if you get too bored to watch.

And don't even get me started on the boos.  It will be a few more days before I can say anything constructive about that.

I agree SC - I could not believe how many people FLED that game!! They should never ever be allowed back into our stadium!! And the BOO's? Kick their butts out of the stadium! Why can't our fans be "GOOD" fans? Cheer for the good, the bad and the ugly - because ALL teams have those games. We aren't always going to be victorious but we can take it to the bank that our young men will ALWAYS give 150% on the field and for THAT, they deserve cheers. I was embarrassed as an Alabama Fan when I heard the boos and when I saw fans leaving. I just don't get it.
I cheer until the last second and then I look to see who is next on our schedule.

So here I go, judging others, just as Ricky's preacher did last Sunday.  Forgive me. Embarrassed

Let me make my point in a different manner.

If you don't think you can commit to staying the whole game, because of a medical condition, an unruly child, a prior appointment, lack of interest, nervousness, loss of breath, thoughts of suicide, fear of losing, or any other reason, there is nothing wrong with that.  Ask your doctor before attending if these conditions persist.

However, if you are uncomfortable making that commitment, it would be helpful to the team if you sold your ticket to another fan who is in a position to do so.  If you decide to keep your ticket and attend, understand that there is an implied commitment and expectation by the coaches, players, and other fans for you to stay the entire game, regardless of the outcome.  This applies equally to blowout wins as well as blowout losses, if such a loss should ever occur, and all the games in between.
