He told Tidesports.com after Northridge beat Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa 23-15 and plans to tell Alabama’s coaches at Saturday’s game against Western Kentucky.

Scarbrough is a junior and is 6-foot-2 and 218 pounds. He is rated the No. 2 prospect in Alabama by 247sports.com.

Northridge is 2-0. Scarbrough picked up 214 yards on 37 carries with three touchdowns in a 40-30 season-opening win over Bob Jones. On Friday, he rushed for 164 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries...

Scarbrough, who is rated as the nation’s top athlete and the 12th-best player in the country by 247 Sports, selected the Crimson Tide over Georgia, Clemson and Florida amongst others.

Alabama picked up its first commitment of the 2014 recruiting class on Friday night when Northridge junior running back Bo Scarbrough committed to the Crimson Tide, according to a report from The Crimson White.

“It’s been on my mind since day one and I was trying to hold out until my 12th grade year, but I couldn’t hold it anymore,” Scarbrough told the Crimson White. “I just want to say “Roll Tide.”

Scarbrough told reporters at the game that the chance to play alongside other elite players at Alabama was a major factor in his decision.

Genetics is definitely Bo's friend.
