Tide LB Trey Depriest named SEC Co-Freshman of the Week

Alabama freshman inside linebacker Trey Depriest made a team-high 10 tackles Saturday in his college football debut.

For his efforts, the former Springfield (Ohio) High School star has been named a Co-Freshman of the Week by the Southeastern Conference.

Depriest had three solo tackles and seven assists in a 48-7 victory over Kent State. One of his assists was on a tackle for a 9-yard loss. He also was credited with one of the Crimson Tide's five quarterback hurries.

I remember on one kickoff he laid out some poor return man. I wasn't sure if that kid was going to get up from that hit. Glad TD in our team.

It seems our future is set for our LBs provided no injuries, I wish I was as sure of our O-line. I guess my questions will be answered this week. RTR!
