Byron Cowart, the No. 1-ranked prospect in the ESPN 300, said all the right things about Auburn during his signing day ceremony Wednesday morning.

But as of midafternoon, his letter of intent has not been faxed to Auburn, and he remains torn about where to go to college.

Seffner (Fla.) Armwood coach Sean Callahan said Cowart arrived at school in the morning with letters of intent signed to both Florida and Auburn. Cowart, however, told ESPN recruiting analyst Craig Haubert that he signed only one letter of intent, to Auburn, and is just waiting to make sure his "heart is there."

Finebaum is all over this.  Looks like he may yet end up in Aubrun, but it's in doubt (and that's fun enough)!

Rivals.com is listing USC as the #1 recruiting class,  They have Bama at 2!

Hey crimsonmom, good to see you. My only real belief is in 247sports on recruiting. The media would like for anybody to be #1 except us.  Cheesy, but they do know we got their #1 QB from their state.  Laughing, RTR!

A lot of speculation on other boards about this. Funny stuff.

Georgia beat out Auburn for five-star wide receiver prospect Terry Godwin, who didn't announce until Wednesday night.

I don't think there was much doubt about Godwin going to Georgia. Like it or not, the barn closed strong with their recruiting class, as did USCw. Glad Coach Mac came away with a few good ones, including CeCe Jefferson.
