Start teaching him to punt now CB.  He will be way ahead of the other kids in a couple of years and he can really help his team if he can punt the ball across the mid field line as the goalkeeper.  It takes the little guys a couple of years to develop the coordination needed for good, consistent punts.  One day in a couple of years down the road they will put him in at goalkeeper and he will punt the ball over everyones head and flip the field.  Then all of a sudden all of the other coaches and kids will decide they need to start punting too, but they won't be able to "get it" for a little while and ya'll will have an advantage for a year or two.  For that matter they may never be able to really catch up.

Wow, that is a lot of points.  Basically the same spread as UT when you take out the 3 points for home field advantage.

Hate to say this, but I'd take MSU (+24) all day long. Historically, this is a great bet. Antibamite?

We may to leave them out of the contest this week.  It isn't fair to the die hard homers such as myself.  Laughing

I followed your reasoning on betting against the Tide. That if they don't cover you still have the bet to feel good about. But winning a forum pickem' doesn't really make up for a weak Tide performance, --does it? RTR

Look at the teams they've beaten, folks:

Jackson State
Auburn
Troy
South Alabama
Kentucky
Tennessee
Middle Tennessee State

I commented on another board about this keeping MSU out of the Top 10. I wish they would be ranked higher for this upcoming game.

MSU will have trouble scoring on us but I think they have the best defense we have seen yet. I'm looking for a game in the 35-10 range which is right about where the spread is. However, MSU plays us tough in a losing effort most years.

If they can keep their turnovers below 10 it'll be close (for Tide game comparisons). Any over/under?

• If a bettor would have wagered $100 on Western Kentucky 15 games ago and let the winnings ride in every ensuing contest, according to pregame.com, he or she would now have $1.63 million. The Hilltoppers 15-game covering streak is one of the craziest Vegas sports accomplishments in recent memory. They host Louisiana-Monroe as 3.5-point favorites Saturday in a game that looks like it pairs the two best teams in the Sun Belt Conference.

There are a lot of ways to look at this one.  If Alabama plays their "A" game, I don't suppose that 24 is all that daunting of a task.

However, I don't really like this weekend, one week before the LSU game and after playing a rival on the road, for betting on us playing our "A" game.  Not to mention that State has likely been gearing up for this one for weeks and we'll get their best shot they can muster; moreso than normal and they generally play us tough.  The only saving grace is this one is at BDS at night, so the crowd could help with getting over "flatness" if this team has any.

In the end, I think where we fall in each others' schedules will keep this one closer than 24.  Just my guess...

ETA:  With that said, judging by my horrific performances in the pick'em the last few weeks, you should all load up on Bama -24.
