Does it look like any of their players will transfer to Bama?  Anybody got any info regarding that yet?

Nothing, not even a rumor, on message boards about Bama.  See related thread about the other schools after PSU players: Click here for link

That's due to Bama already being loaded with talent. I would guess there are no more than 2 players who Saban would be interested in. One is a LB and has 2 years of eligibility left. I think Georgia is interested in him.

 Dog
About the only player I see Bama looking at is backup QB Rob Bolden.  The guy was the 4th rated QB nationally coming out of HS as a dual-threat QB, has playing experience, and would fill a huge hole Bama has at QB.

Good story about a recruit. He may regret it, though.

Quote
When Scout.com five-star tight-end Adam Breneman committed to Penn State, he didn't do so just for a chance to win bowl games and national championships.

No, the Cedar Cliff High (Camp Hill, Pa.) Class of 2013 prospect had something else in mind: playing for Bill O'Brien, in his pro-style offense and before a packed house at Beaver Stadium full of Penn State fans.

I just heard Coach Stallings on "Southern Sports Tonight". He said he felt like those that were involved in the scandal should be punished to the fullest extent of the law, but that in his opinion, the NCAA had no business getting involved. He said that when you look at the NCAA, their function is to make sure that athletics don't overshadow academics. By giving the team players the complete freedom to transfer, they are sending the message that athletics are more important than academics. What happened with all this mess did not diminish what could be accomplished in the classroom, therefore, the offer for punitive-free transfers should never have been offered.

Nonsense.  The current players had NOTHING to do with the accusations or scandal.

BTW, rumor has it that CNS has been after an O-lineman: Brian Gaia.

Interesting. He's from Michigan, but is willing to come South. With the Big Ten going down, I guess he wanted to go to a better conference and one without the drama of Ohio State & Penn State.

I don't think there will be a big rush by major football teams to raid the new commits at Penn State. PSU finished 51st in recruiting for 2012 by Rivals. Brain Gaia is a guard from Baltimore. Most of these guys would probably end up going to Rutgers, Indiana, NC State types of programs.

When a criminal is sentenced to prison, his family suffers. When a company is hit with federal charges (for example) entry level employees with no involvement in the violation are often hurt. There is no way to completely eliminate collateral damage-- no pure "eye for an eye" solution. Therefore, when the NCAA overreached to punish PSU as Coach Stallings so wisely put, they ignored the separation and punishing of the actually guilty in favor of punishing the target they felt would yield the most dollars.  Fans around the country used this opportunity to try and make their own program seem more righteous. The NCAA took their cue from this popular demand to further hijack money and power.  The best interests of the victims and the tracking down of others with direct involvement will now be ignored. HTH

Alabama has been in contact with guard Brian Gaia about transferring, and is open to other players who may be interested.

Quote
Alabama head coach Nick Saban has already expressed interest in possible Penn State transfers, telling ESPN on Tuesday "if somebody was interested in coming to the University of Alabama, we would certainly entertain it." According to a report by USA Today, Saban reached out to one Penn State player as early as Monday afternoon, contacting the high school coach of recent PSU signee Brian Gaia, a Baltimore offensive lineman who enrolled at Penn State last month.

Yahoo sports has Bama on Brian Gaia's list of schools coming out of H.S.  He played both OL and DL.

Does he have the chest and ability to lead a Les Miles team???
