Bama Mag had a very good article about McCarron a while back. It discussed how he survived a jet ski accident. I never knew about this until I found the article a couple of days ago. Reading it gave me a new sense of respect for AJ.

I think Aaron Douglas' death affected CNS in a big way.  Caused him to chill a bit.  Don't think he's any less a demanding coach.  Just coming at it in a little diferent manner.  Just MHO...

I agree he seems a little different now.  I don't know if it is that or the tornadoes, or maybe a combination.

I agree. I've always thought he was a great person, but listening to him this year I think he is valuing his time with the players more. I am proud to have him as a part of BAMA! He talked a lot about conditional love vs unconditional love last year and how it changes when you win and lose at a college/team, but at home(West Virginia) it never changes. For me, the way he devoted himself to helping Tuscaloosa after the tornado, he has my unconditional love and I'll always view him as a wonderful person and coach.  Cheesy

Hilarious! Carson is one awesome person! I'm glad he is involved in our program, wish he had more than just next year left!

I'm sorry I meant DeMarcus Milliner. I will go back and edit. I thought I had seen reporters refer to him as Dee.   Cheesy Also, it's DeQuan, my bad...major fail..face palm

I was thinking that the long layoff would have everyone healed up, but according to this article/Video DeQuan and Dee Milliner are fighting leg injuries.

They don't really look like they are hampered to me, but hard to tell just in drills. I sure pray both are 100% by Monday night.

What do y'all think?

7  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: BCS signage... on: December 15, 2011, 09:50:37 PM
How about Viva La SABAN Proceso! or Viva La Proceso! I would love to have a shirt that looked like this:

Except put Coach's face and the above slogan, on a Crimson shirt.   Cheesy
8  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Paterno Sells Home to Wife for $1 on: November 16, 2011, 06:31:59 PM
I think they've made (are making) a big deal out of him being a man of modest means.

The $1 trick is for inheritance tax purposes. Some of you would do well to look into it.
That is a great point! I will have to remember that in  about 55-60 years! Cuz I have such a large estate.  Grin
9  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Q&A with ESPN BCS analyst Brad Edwards on Alabama's national title chances on: November 10, 2011, 07:45:36 PM
That whole little spill at the end about us rooting for those dadgum boogers made my stomach churn!

They may need to rethink that statement or they could end up with something like this...

12  Around Campus / The Quad / Re: Auburn University releases Toomer's oaks before, after photos on: November 03, 2011, 07:16:51 PM

The three-man Action Cam crew responsible for the overhead, suspended camera was busy unloading their trailer behind Bryant-Denny Stadium as the lunchtime crowd filed by.

In all, a crew of 75 will handle broadcasting the game around the country. It takes four to operate the floating camera setup that began Tuesday.

“In a stadium like this, if we can get the points up high and to the far corners, it just opens up the flight space for the camera,” said P.J. Bennett of Action Cam. “This is like a NFL stadium.”

In all, the equipment is valued at $500,000 with the camera itself representing half the total.

“Just the lens itself is $50,000,” Bennett said. “So this isn’t cheap equipment.”

Correction, it's better than many NFL stadiums.

Good catch, Catch!  Applause E-Cred

It's also been filled to capacity more times than NFL Owners could possibly hope for their own stadiums.
