Title: Robby Green is in the CNS Doghouse (Poll).
Post by: Chechem on March 22, 2011, 05:42:32 AM
Quote
Defensive back Robby Green was not on the field this afternoon serving a suspension for violating team rules. This appears to be separate from the NCAA-mandated suspension that took him out of action all of last season.

There have been lengthy stays in the CNS doghouse.

I think this guy is detemrined to stay in the doghouse. I think before he leaves they will have an official name for the doghouse, something like the Green House, or the Robby Room.

 :o

Agreed, #.

Alternatively, "Fulmer-Trophy Room."

I think Robby is trying to become the first person to win the Fulmer Trophy single-handedly.

Makes me wonder why he is still being punished seeing that most would assume by now he would be off the team. I wonder if he is just that talented and CNS feels about him like CGS felt about David Palmer or what. Hope he gets it turned around and can do something good with his gift and his chance..

We don't know the issue.

CNS was fully in support of Robby after last year's transgression and went to bat with him all the way to the NCAA.  Lots of speculation circled about that incident as well, but I'm not sure any real reports were released as to the reasoning.

I doubt CNS would have done that if RG was the turd of a player/person that has been described on some threads.

Same with this issue, we don't know the severity of the incident or how short RG's personal leash is compared to other players after last year's probation, yet we have tons of speculation that he is a consistent trouble maker who can't stay out of the dog house.  That may be the case, but it is just as likely that he made some poor decisions (which other players have likely made) and had the dumb luck to get caught.

I firmly believe that CNS has no patience for trouble makers and the team has no shortage of talent to replace a single individual.  The fact remains that each scholarship freed-up only betters our future #s situation, so if the incident or RG's real attitude on and/or off the field warranted dismissal he would be dismissed.

Short of another incident occurring with him that requires stronger punishment, I fully expect him to be competing for playing time and fully participating in spring practice before the A-day game.

I hope you are right, but would not be surprised to not hear any more until his announcement to transfer.

CNS was not very happy with him when he spoke to us at NSD. I think CNS has this expectation from everyone he is associated with and that is being prompt (on time) and being a man of your word. Maybe the problem with Green lies within those two expectations.

LOL, well Fellow Bama lovers I have to say I have been known for my liking RG. I sure hope he has done nothing to the ire of CNS. I wanted to see him comeback and rip off some hits. RTR!
