There have been some newcomers/first year starters who have played well.  Also, there are some who have stepped up their game this year.  Some may have even been a bit of a letdown.   Your picks?

I think Upshaw has shown what a force he can be when healthy.
Eddie Lacey has been a great backup for Trent Richardson.
J Harris seem to be coming into his potential.

Just to name a few.

What I'm liking most is the depth on both sides of the ball, Bama doesn't miss a beat when a non-starter comes into the game. It's been a long time since they have had that luxury.

Apologies for asking a lateral question, but something I heard from Coach Saban has me wondering.

Coach Saban said the adjustment we made to stop UF's passing attack in the 1st Q was to change from man coverage to a zone, which improved our pass rush.

Now either I misunderstood him, or the zone had unintended consequences.  I thought the beauty of the man coverage was it allowed us to blitz more and get to the passer better.  I know it's not that simple, but CNS's answer was confusing.

HSCoach, did you understand it?  Anybody?

Yep, understood very clearly. Very simple concept if you ask me.

Maybe he was able to get more players in throwing lanes.  I didn't put in my note, and not trying to sound like a know it all, but I thought they played more zone later in the game.  They could still bring 5 and be safe.

Chris Jordan?  I do not believe he has played due to injury.  Is he and Fulton supposed to be on a disappointment list?

I think Fulton has done some decent work on the special teams.  I know he got on CNS list for a while the other night.
