Kyler Murray has been impressive, but he’s done it against the high school defenses in the Big 12. I’m biased obviously, but Tua has been the most impressive QB all season. He should win it.
I listened to a discussion of that this morning. The discussion was about WV's DBs and how they played Okie's WRs. For example:
On one TD play the DB was playing the inside shoulder of the WR to stop a slant. The DB lined up tight, but didn't try to bump the WR (they never disrupted the WRs at the LOS). The WR broke inside despite the DB position, and ran past the DB before he moved. The pass was a slant, which should have been defended by playing inside shoulder. But instead, the DB misplayed it, and the WR ran past him. Just a joke of a DB. And the discussion pointed out that the WR weren't special; just poor DB play
all day. It was worse than most high-school DBs.
