I agree.  An affair might be survivable.  An affair with someone he hired to work for the University...

Hard to predict at this point.  They are going through the analysis now.  It is Winning versus Image.  Both impact recruiting.  If Mike Price had a few great seasons before his stripper fiasco, what would have happened?   He would still have been gone.  But this is Arkansas, not Alabama.  Their prior coach was a Nutt.  Probably the major donors will determine the outcome.

Excellent post. I really don't know which way this one falls. How do you get past the lying to your boss and hiring someone who you supervise who is also your mistress? The fact he has won at Arkansas definitely muddies the water, but how can you ever trust the guy again? Plus, hiring someone you are sleeping with is usually an ethics violation in most states & against the law. This really makes Arkansas a laughstock.

I think Petrino survives. Maybe a big fine and off-season suspension, but I don't see ARK throwing the next season, or next few seasons, away. It's also pretty late to be looking for a good coach. And besides, it's ARK. Maybe she is his cousin which makes it a family matter.

I suspect the University's main concern is the potential for a sexual harassment lawsuit.  What would have happened if the relationship went sour and the young lady's employment status changed?  The missus finds out and the girl gets fired?  The fact that Petrino exposed the University to potential liability is a major factor, on top of lying to his bosses.  I really don't think he survives this, but like I said, this is Arkansas.

Much will be made about the "previous inappropriate relationship" Petrino speaks of and the fact that Dorrell was out riding the countryside with him.

But the two biggest factors working against Petrino are, No. 1, that he wasn't truthful with his superiors about the accident and lied about it publicly, and No. 2, that Dorrell was somebody who was hired to work under Petrino in the football office. If a "previous inappropriate relationship" with Petrino did indeed lead to her hiring, that's bad news for everybody involved.
