It sounds like he may have had a partial tear on the first play, but then maybe he tore it some more by the end of the game.  I sure hope that is not the case.  Sad

On TV the sideline reporter said it was a bruised knee. He rode a bike while Missouri had the ball to keep it loose. That is what TV said. CNS said he would be OK in the post game press conference. An injury of this type hurts more once you get off of it and the swelling starts. I'm sure AJ was sore. He will be getting plenty of rest, whirlp pool, heat and ice for his knee this week. I'm not a doctor but if it was too bad he would not have come back into the game.

I prefer your diagnose pmull.  I also believe you are correct.  I have been searching for updates but have not found anything new.

AJ seems in good spirits on twitter, but no mention of the knee.

I sure hope you are right. Riding a stationary bicycle with a meniscus injury was something I could do, no problem. The concern I had was the description of him walking down an incline. That's one of the main signs of a meniscus injury, per the docs & my own injury. That hurts like fire. Hopefully, this is totally cleared up when Saban gives his injury update and they have had time to fully evaluate AJ.

We can breathe a little easier, A.J's MRI came back negative. I received a text from my son and he's on a pay site, BOL I think. I'm sure there will be some soreness but a week of good therapy and maybe he will be ready to go Saturday.

Great news. That's what I was waiting to hear. The MRI will nail that injury in no time. I have my presugery and post surgery MRI pictures here at the house. Maybe I will download them to post here on the site.

No problem. I will look for the MRI. It looks like a polaroid, about the same size. I am not a computer guy, so if I have problems posting them, I will ask for your help.

CNS just confirmed on the ESPN BCS show that AJ's injury was a bruised knee. He said he would be fine in a day or two. He also said there was very little swelling.

Folks, we just dodged a HUGE bullet. I hope our #2 QB is getting some major reps. Also, if we get up 28-0, 31-7 or something like that in the 3rd quarter, we need to consider putting the backup QB in and let him throw the ball around for practice.

Most teams don't have an experienced, talented backup ready to go on a moments notice. I wish this hadn't been brought to the forefront so every headhunter on our schedule will be trying to knock him out (more than usual). I hope Toxik is right about AJ-- that he is plenty tough, has good awareness, and has the best OL in the country watching out for him!
