I'm not sure that is a plum job anymore.  The facilities apparently haven't been updated, fan expectations are high, kids today don't remember Miami being all that good...

Actually I remember Miami being rather pedestrian, back in the late 1960s and early 1970s.  Their defense was good; no offense at all.

BTW, it's official now: http://www.hurricanesports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=28700&ATCLID=210450744

They don't have home stadium and have to travel 40 miles, I think, to play at the Dolphins stadium.  Other facilities need upgrading also from what was talked about by others.

They were on the cusp of shutting their football program down before Schnellenberger resurrected the program.

The right Coach can bring this once proud program back. The talent is right at its doorstep.

He'd get killed trying to recruit the inner city kids.  :lol2:

Florida and FSU are getting rich on Miami's downfall.  Someone has got to get into Miami and recruit.  The talent is right there!

Another name mentioned by the talking heads for Miami. The Miami job is vastly overrated. A private school with a 16,000 enrollment & a very small fan base. Even during their heyday in the 80's & 90's they had few home sellouts unless they were playing a huge game like Notre Dame, FSU, or Florida. The university is actually in the city Coral Gables, a very upscale town.
