Quote
As NFL players reported for mini-camps last week, the members of the Alabama Crimson Tide's highly-touted Draft class made their first impressions on their future employers, and many already appear to be carving out roles for themselves as rookies.

Trent Richardson has earned high praise from those in Cleveland who have seen the former Tide running back in action. The Plain Dealer's Mary Kay Cabot wrote this weekend about Richardson's rough childhood in Pensacola, and how it has affected his approach to the game both at the college and pro level.

"It's a miracle that I've gotten to this point," Richardson told The Plain Dealer. "Now that I'm here, I want to be remembered as the most dominant player to ever play the game." ...

I think we will be seeing him starting in place of Suggs for sure.

After slipping out of the first round to the surprise of many, Courtney Upshaw has found himself in position to possibly earn early playing time from Day One in Baltimore after Ravens outside linebacker Terrell Suggs was sidelined with an injury.

I think this is a testament to not only the coaching they got in college, but the hard work they put in to achieve thier goal.  Good luck to all.

Heres is a question for all of you. I know CNS goes out and gets the best Talent, but is he looking for the type of guys that will work to be the best or is his sytem that teaches them to work hard every day that is turning out these amazing athletes?

I think he is looking for guys who have already demonstrated a commitment to work hard even while in high school.  Those are the kind of guys that will embrace the challenge of the 4th Qtr program and rise to the occasion.  Guys like that will take on the responsibility of playing/working their hardest not only for themselves, but for their teammates.

IMO this is why you sometimes see a guy that is hyped up by the recruiting services but is not even being pursued by CNS and staff.  A lot of times the guy, although very talented, either has a poor work ethic or some moral/character issues.

Of course, once they get on campus they are introduced to Mr. Cochran.  So I guess I would have to say it is a little bit of both.

I honestly think it is a combination of both.  Yes he gets some of the best talent and he does recruit players that fit his scheme.  However, look at Smelly, if I remember correctly he was a 2 or 3 star QB and use made an Hback/TE type that could split out.

^^^This^^^. Per CKS, this is a major part of their recruiting process. In an earlier meeting with us, he was asked a question about where Bama stood with the highly rated WR from Missouri. He said that recruits are first rated by their practice and off the field ethics and if there is a problem there, they then slide down prospect list. There was nothing else said about the WR then.

I followed you back.

One thing you have to watch out for on twitter is the fake accounts.  There have been several fake Trent Richardson accounts for example.  One way to know if the account is real or not is to look at it and see who else is following it.  If a lot of the other players are following it, then it is probably legit.  The real players will follow each other because they see each other in real life and tell each other what their twitter names are.  The fake accounts won't usually have any real players following it.  If somebody sets up a fake account for Trent, then the next time they see Trent or talk to him on the phone they will ask him if it is real.  If he says yes they will follow it, and if he says no they will just ignore it.  Also, once they find out an account is fake, they will usually say something about it so everyone else will know.

Thanks SC. I have to clean up some of the junk already.
