As he reflected upon a 445-yard, four-touchdown performance against a Florida defense that promised to be one of the best Alabama would see all season, Sims rattled off a laundry list of players who helped make it happen. First it was the wide receivers, then the offensive line, then the three running backs whom he named individually.
Not until he was pinned down with the question, "How do you think you threw the ball today?" did Sims take an in-depth look at his personal performance. He deemed it worthy of 21 words.
"I felt like I threw it pretty good," Sims said. "There was certain times my feet weren't right or I did something wrong."
And then, he did it again.
"It was just the great wide receivers getting open," Sims said. "It's just like playing catch in the backyard."
His teammates and coach were happy to fill in the blanks for him in a performance that was among the best in program history.
Sims beat his previous career-high (250 yards) by the end of the first quarter
