Tocoma. I like Toyota, plus I think the Toyota looks better. You can't go wrong either way.

It's not even close, the Toyota Tacoma has been outstanding for 15 years. Incredibel durability and dependability. For the money, it may be he best vehicle in the world. It's in the same category as the Civic, Camry, Corolla, and Accord, fantastic automobiles known for their quality.

Tacoma, not close.  That is the only acceptable small truck in my opinion.  On top of everything else, it looks better.

I cant think of one category that the frontier would be better in, except maybe price.

I know at least 3 guys who have happily owned more than one Tacoma.

All that said, I recommend a Ford F-350 dually.   Cheesy

The F350 would be nice except for:
1. Sticker Price.

2. Maint Price.

3. Fuel Price.

4. Won't fit in Garage. (Roof clearance)

5. Wife would knock the rear fenders off the first trip she took on it.

The price between the Frontier and Tacoma is not much different.

Many keep talking on the Tacoma. I have an '85 Nissan Max with nearly 200K on it. Still runs great.

Here is some of what a friend on a different forum said on the Nissan:

i have owned two Nissan trucks. a hard body '94 and a frontier 05.

the hard body i sold with 227k which was a manual transmision no power anything. i put 1 battery and a high pressure AC hose on the thing and it still looked and ran like a show room truck. i got 3500 for it when I sold it. I paid 6k with 10k miles on it in 96.

i am still driving the frontier with 207K miles and have replaced the brakes and fuel sender, which the FS was under warranty.

pulled 4000 lbs of satellite antennas on a 1000lb trailer with about 700 lbs of water and MRE's in the bed from melbourne to gulfport mississippi a week after Katrina at 70 mph in 5th gear. truck still can peg out at the 140 mark on the speedo, 156 on gps. it is a 6 speed manual, no power anything. Only dislike i have is no power anything. due to money issues i foresee 400k. i run 80 miles a day at 80-85 mph.

if you dont need 4WD then the frontier is the way to go. i paid 19.5k for it brand new and i have made every penny back. been paid off for 1.5 years and have no desire to get something else. when it dies, i'll buy another brand new one just like + power locks/ windows. will keep 6 speed manual

4.0 V6 165hp stock, with the k&n cold air induction i estimate 175-180hp. if you keep foot off of gas pedal you may get lucky and get 20 MPG i however nate-ize the truck and get about 17MPG.

The only other issue I have heard on the Tacoma is interior stuff falling apart.

I haven't owned either a Tacoma or Frontier but I have owned Toyota & Nissan products.  Both give exceptional service and durability. I still have a 1984 Nissan 300ZX that was still going strong but now needs a new water pump. My son had a Nissan Maxima that he put 280,000 miles on before giving it to a friend. I had a Nissan Pathfinder that I only kept a couple of years but never had any problems. For the past several years I have only owned Toyota products and am very satisfied. My impressions on test driving the Frontier and Tacoma are that the Frontier is a bit more comfortable and the Toyota probably a bit tougher. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
