He should have retired 5 years ago I think. He has not really had any pep in his step since he left the Lakers to me. The dominating force is long gone. I really think he might make a good assistant coach somewhere. He knows the Lane work in BB. RTR!

Shaq could stil be a very effective player if he woud take care of himself and lose weight. If he had played, at say 255 instead of 335, he could be a major force . He has been so out-of-shape and overweight, that he has been pretty much useless for the past 3 or 4  years, at least. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a big contibutor to the Lakers when he was 40, because he worked out, did yoga and stretching, and kept his weight around 240-250. Shaq retired at the age of 39, while Jabbar scored 22 points a game when he was 39. At age 40, Jabbar averaged 17 points and played when the Lakers won the title. Jabbar was disciplined while Shaq was lazy.

Kareem also trained under Bruce Lee!

Me too.  I was a fan of his when he played for the Magic. Let's hope he doesn't turn out like Sir Charles.

I remember sitting in the student section and watching him play in Coleman.
