TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama junior Jennifer Fenton belted two home runs, including a grand slam and the Crimson Tide used a seven-run fourth inning to down Arkansas, 10-1 Friday night at Rhoads Stadium. With the win, Alabama improves to 31-2 overall and 7-1 in Southeastern Conference action while Arkansas drops to 10-22 on the season and 1-10 in league play.

"It has been a very grueling seven days with seven games and to be able to come home and play a quick game is just what we needed," Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy said. "The best way to respect your opponent is to play your best and I thought we did that tonight."

Fenton smacked two home runs and drove in six runs for Alabama. Both were career highs for the centerfielder. The last time a Tide player hit six RBI in a game was back on Feb. 19, 2010, when Alex Blewitt knocked in six runners against Rhode Island.

Freshman Jackie Traina (13-1) picked up the win for the Tide in the circle. Traina, who was perfect through four innings, allowed just two hits and struck out five of the 14 batters she faced while allowing an unearned run.

The udda team's kwaddaback must go down. As if Alabama's defense wasn't terrifying enough, the Crimson Tide are putting an increased emphasis this spring on generating a better pass rush, the only area the 'Bama D hasn't statistically dominated over the last three years...............

You may have already known that Jadeveon Clowney was temporarily handcuffed by Columbia police last night in Five Points, a popular nightlife area near the university, because he "fit a description" of a suspect who had committed a robbery nearby. But you may not have known that his soon-to-be coach, Steve Spurrier, was also temporarily handcuffed after practice today at the Gamecock's "Proving Ground" near Williams Brice Stadium.................

Alabama Spring Preview: Defensive Line

In 2010, the Crimson Tide had a big hole to fill (literally and figuratively) in replacing Terrence Cody.  That hole proved to be bigger than most thought and the defensive line struggled across the board last season.  This year help is on the way, but will it make a difference?
